4 STAR GRADED

We are happy to announce that the ‘Further.Space at Glenarm Castle’ Glamping Pods is the FIRST POD SITE to be awarded Guest Accommodation Certification and a four-star grading by Tourism NI.

The Glenarm site officially opened in July 2019 and received its TNI grading approval by November of that same year.  Further.Space launched this site with five luxurious pods in association with Glenarm Castle Estate, offering guests an unforgettable glamping experience. Never before have the general public had an accommodation option to stay on the Castle Estate grounds, and as the ‘Ocean View Pods’ are set up on a stunning hill top site, guests not only get a breath-taking view of the ocean, but also the Estate and historic harbour town of Glenarm.

Samantha Corr, Quality & Standards Manager at Tourism NI commented on the four star grading: “Over 4.7 million bed spaces were sold across the accommodation sector in Northern Ireland in 2019. Our visitors are looking for high quality accommodation and memorable experiences. Further.Space at Glenarm Castle pods are in an ideal position to meet that demand as they offer well-designed, comfortable accommodation in a unique setting, where visitors can relax as well as explore all that Northern Ireland has to offer.

Samantha added; “Achieving four stars from their first grading assessment demonstrates the team’s dedication and hard work, and their ability to go above and beyond for their guests. The whole team at Further.Space and Glenarm Castle Estate have put in an enormous amount of work to achieve this award and I applaud their efforts.”

An innovative new tourism initiative, all the features of the pod from hotel grade linens, ensuite shower room with toiletries and towels, kitchenette area, breakfast options, heating, water and electricity are all baseline essentials of why the site received it’s unique grading.

Peter Farquharson, CEO of Further.Space reacted to the grading,

“We are so proud to have our pod site recognised with this grading as our vision is to go beyond the ordinary and let customers stay somewhere exclusive, cosy and stylish with nature on our doorstep. We work closely with our partners to provide a great experience for our customers and Glenarm Castle is doing a great job of maintaining luxury levels of service. We have had over 100 amazing reviews already from customers, not only loving the pod accommodation, but the overall experience”.

This has been a long-time dream for the team at Glenarm Castle, with direct overview from Lord and Lady Dunluce who had been looking for the right fit solution to allow the public to enjoy the Estate in an over-night setting.

Lady Dunluce, of Glenarm Castle, who personally oversaw the pod interiors and landscaping said,

“Achieving 4-star grading is an important milestone for us as it reflects the pride in our Estate, plus the luxury and the comforts we wanted our customers to experience.  We have had many people from the Island of Ireland travel and stay with us, but we have also received visitors from all over the world, such as USA, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, to name a few who are looking for this level of comfort, but giving them the option of something a little different.”

Your Host

Escape your every day and take time to relax and reconnect at Black Knowe’s unique farm pod accommodation and glamping experience.
Screenshot 2020 01 21 at 21.05.44
Black Knowe has been a working farm from the early 1600s, where families have utilised the farmland to produce industrial and agricultural assets. The four buildings within the farmyard originate from the initial farming settlement and the building configuration was known as a clachan (Irish: Small settlement or village).

The pod site is named after local townland situated near ‘Black Knowe’ and each individual pod have a name relating to the local area.

Your host is Rachel Glenn who’s family own and run the farm. Returning from Australia, Rachel wants guests to come and relax, and see the beautiful landscape that she has grown up with.
