NEW AND ENHANCED OPERATING PROCEDURES ON OUR POD SITES.

Our pod experience is a valuable respite for families to be together, in a sensible way and in an outdoor environment. The health and welfare of our guests and staff is paramount, so we have put together comprehensive guidelines and procedures to ensure we minimise risks to our staff and guests for operating procedures on our pod sites.  Below you will find additional information on the procedures, policies and actions that we are putting into place at our pod sites to make your visit with us as safe as possible.

Our pod sites are already well placed to open with social distancing in mind due to the features below:

  • Self-check-in and out so minimal contact with staff
  • Smaller pod sites in an outdoor setting
  • No internal communal areas, restaurants or bar areas
  • Each pod is at a minimum 6 metres apart from another pod so we can adhere to social distancing of customers
  • Pods are cleaned to the highest standards, with now enhanced Coronavirus procedures, and all linen is professionally laundered
  • Food can be supplied safely, but customers are welcome to bring their own

For customers who have already made a booking, more detail on Coronavirus procedures will be sent with your pre-check in information closer to your stay.

Contact us on info@further.space if you require additional information.

What about you the guest…

Whilst we are doing our best to make our pod sites safe and secure for all guests, we are asking our guests to also please adhere to social distance guidelines as outlined by the Government and Public Health Agencies.

Our continued adherence to handwashing/sanitising practices and social distancing etiquettes are of vital importance.  Please be mindful of yourself and other guests.

Hand sanitiser has been provided for you in your pod, as well as general cleaning products for your convenience.  Hand sanitiser units are also available for your convenience in areas where appropriate.

If you or a member of your party feel unwell, please do not travel to the pod site. Should you develop a new and persistent cough and/or a fever prior to your arrival, we ask that you do not attempt to travel.  Let us know, and we will offer you the option of changing the date or a refund as per our new flexible booking policies (see above).

Our COVID-19 Policies & Procedures – Customer Update

As above the health and welfare of our guests and staff is paramount, so we have put together comprehensive guidelines and procedures to ensure we minimise risks to our staff and guests for operating procedures on our pod sites over the summer.

So rest assured there is plenty going on behind the scenes, but here are the main things that you, the guest, should know

All our properties have been deep cleaned and sanitised with certified professional disinfectant and sanitising products. For more information on the cleaning products used see cleaning section below.

Housekeeping will be enhancing their current practises to ensure deep disinfection of all surfaces and touchpoints, the team will be wearing PPE during our cleaning periods on site. The removal of any unnecessary items from accommodation will help to minimise contact points. However, cups, glasses, cutlery and crockery will still be provided – for these items our housekeeping staff follow a strict ‘wash, disinfect, rinse’ procedure.  All pods are well ventilated before all new guests arrive.

All our linens and towels are professionally laundered to the highest standard.

Further to COVID-19 procedures to minimise contact with guests we will only change over linens and towels UPON REQUEST or after communicating directly with the guest (especially for those guests that are staying more than 2 nights). This is to minimise your contact with staff.  However, please do get in contact with your local host if you need anything – email and mobile information is provided to all guests.

When our housekeeping staff are on site to provide a change-over or additional linens, the team will be wearing appropriate PPE.

Where appropriate soft furnishings such as blankets will be removed from the pod to minimise touch points that are not professionally laundered, and everything else will have a misted surface sanitiser clean before your stay.

Virucidal Disinfectant has been used across all hard surfaces and touchpoint areas as outlined above and the pod fully cleaned down before each guest stay.

For reservations that do not require use of the bunk beds, then these areas will have the linens removed so that only the mattresses are left which are fully cleaned down.

Waste of any kind should be placed in a plastic bag, tied and removed from the pod and disposed of in the external bins provided.  Refuge bags and food bags are supplied for guests.

Hand sanitiser and/or soap has been provided in each pod for guests.  All staff have been provided with sanitiser also. Virucidal disinfectant widely used across all hard surfaces and surface sanitiser across all soft/porous surfaces.

Our pods have an automatic ventilation system that renews the air within the pod not only when you are staying in the pod, but also between each stay.  By the time guests check-in, new air has been circulated in the pod.  During the housing keeping period the pod will also be ventilated by allowing fresh air in through the main door during the deep clean period.

There are Vent-Axia fans in the living space and in the ensuite shower room, which have a pre-set trickle flow with automated humidity sensors. There is also a manual open and shut vent in the bunkroom, for comfort at night and when the weather does not allow you to leave the door open continuously.  These fans also allow us to ventilate the pods between guest stays.

We have always provided a self-check-in and self check-out experience, and everything you need to know is emailed to you before your stay. That said, if you do need something we provide contact details for each of our hosts who will happily come on site or by phone to help you out with anything that you need – social distancing measures will be adhered to and hosts will wear masks when appropriate.  At all times we will minimise your contact with staff.

All our optional extra’s are pre-booked and set up in your pod prior to your check-in.

Normally we provide a printed pod-user guide within the pod, but to minimise the touchpoints we will now send an electronic version of the user-guide to our guests via email prior to their stay.  Additional information in general will be provided to all our guests before your stay date.

Should you require assistance just contact your local host.

A laminated instruction sheet has been left in your pod with guidelines for usage.

All our food packages are sourced locally where possible and provided directly by the hosts. Anything we handle and leave for you at the pod will be handled with the utmost care and cleanliness. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, drink and camp fire materials.  See our standard T&C’s for details.

Anything utensil wise that we leave for your convenience will have been thoroughly cleaned before your arrival, however we have provided cleaning materials for you to wash up any items during your stay.  All pods have hot running water directly in the pods.

As part of our experience we provide a mini kitchenette area with plates, cups, cutlery and tea/coffee making facilities.  We have always given a commitment to the environment to have as much non-disposable items as possible – so we will continue to provide these items for our guests.

Tea, coffee, sugar etc are in single sachet usage packaging.

Our pods are naturally set at least 3 metres from another pod, however we are asking guests to adhere to social distancing measures and refrain from going over to another guest’s pod, unless you are part of a group booking.

Apart from basic tea/coffee making inside the pod, most of our guests BBQ at the camp fire area outside the pod, so please enjoy your food and drink al fresco looking out to the view or tucked away in your comfy pod. Communal bins are provided on site, so please take care when accessing these areas.  Refuge bags and food bags are provided in your pod.

Normally we would provide some soft furnishings like blankets and throws – for your safety they have been removed.  When you are packing up to go, please bring these items from home so that you can enjoy a more cosy stay.

Feel free to bring your own food and drink, there is a mini fridge in every pod and storage areas.  We also have an outdoor camp fire area at each pod where you can toast marshmallows.

Our smaller pod sites offer fresh air and wide-open spaces for all our guests to enjoy. We do however ask guests to bear in mind the boundary area of their own pod and refrain from wandering across the boundary area of another pod. There will be hand sanitiser and/or soap provided in your pod. Cleaning and disinfection will take place across any general communal areas and touch points on the pod sites.  Where appropriate signage will be in place to remind guests of social distancing measures.

Our team members will be completing a return to work orientation with health and safety training provided for our new processes and handling of guest materials. All staff members will carry personal hand sanitiser at all times and will be wearing masks when in public areas.

If you feel unwell during your stay please contact your own GP or call 111 to take advice.  Please also let us know immediately so that we can safely secure the pod site and deep clean the pod and area. Our staff have a procedure to follow and implement should a guest present with COVID-19 symptoms.  We also have appropriate guidelines for our staff.

If you feel unwell after you have stayed with us, please let us know so we can take appropriate action with staff and guests at our site.
